Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Wipro Limited has announced the completion of a large-scale cloud ERP transformation for AusNet, Victoria’s largest diversified energy network business. The project, delivered using RISE with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Private Edition, replaced legacy systems with an integrated cloud platform.
AusNet Chief Technology Officer, Chris Galland, said the program went beyond a technical implementation.
“This was more than a technology upgrade – it was an opportunity for the entire company to rally together,” Galland said.
He added that close collaboration between partners and internal teams, both in Australia and offshore, ensured customers, field crews and retailers experienced no disruption during the cutover.
“As a result, we have emerged with a platform that is faster, smarter and ready for the future,” he said.
Collaboration Delivers On Complex ERP Upgrade
Ketan Panchal, Managing Director and Country Head for Australia at Wipro Limited, said the joint effort between AusNet, SAP and Wipro delivered a significant step forward in AusNet’s digital infrastructure.
“The seamless collaboration between AusNet, SAP, and Wipro has resulted in a transformative upgrade for AusNet’s digital infrastructure,” Panchal said.
He added that Wipro’s consulting-led, Ai-powered approach focuses on integrating technologies, industry-specific solutions and enterprise platforms to deliver measurable outcomes.
The program was delivered in 18 months, which the partners said demonstrates what is possible when strong collaboration and decisive execution are in place.
Field Operations See New Capabilities
The rollout included tailored geospatial mapping tools and advanced asset management solutions on hand-held devices. These tools are expected to improve field productivity, including in remote areas with limited connectivity.
Angela Colantuono, President and Managing Director, SAP Australia and New Zealand, said AusNet’s adoption of SAP S/4HANA Cloud creates a platform for long-term improvement.
“By combining a modern cloud ERP platform with SAP Business Technology Platform and industry-specific solutions, AusNet has created the digital foundation it needs to unlock real-time insights and operate as an intelligent enterprise,” Colantuono said.
She said the approach would help AusNet meet growing energy demand, improve efficiency and support the shift to cleaner energy.
