Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Adobe has rolled out a series of new features in Photoshop across desktop, web and mobile platforms, aimed at reducing repetitive editing tasks and giving users more creative control through Firefly-powered Ai tools.
The update includes five major additions currently available in beta or early access. These updates follow extensive user feedback and are focused on improving workflows for designers, photographers and content creators.
Firefly-Powered Tools Introduced
Among the key features is Harmonize, an Ai tool that blends inserted elements into an image by automatically adjusting lighting, tone and shadows.
“Harmonize intelligently analyses the visual context of your composition, which saves time on manual refinements,” Adobe said in a statement. “It’s particularly useful for marketers, digital artists or anyone building layered visual scenes.”
The tool was first previewed during Adobe MAX 2024 under the name Project Perfect Blend and is now available in beta on Photoshop desktop and web, with early access on iOS.
Upscaling Without Quality Loss
Another new capability is Generative Upscale, which enables users to enhance image resolution up to 8 megapixels while maintaining sharpness and clarity. Adobe said the tool has been one of the most requested features from its community.
This feature is positioned as helpful for preparing content for print or digital campaigns, or for reworking older, lower-resolution files. It’s available in beta for Photoshop on desktop and web.
Remove Tool Upgrade Targets Cleaner Results
Adobe has also refined its Remove tool using the latest Firefly model. The company claims this version delivers more natural blending and fewer visible artifacts.
“Whether it’s clearing out power lines from a skyline or cleaning up backgrounds in portraits, the improved Remove tool now delivers more professional and seamless results,” Adobe said.
The tool is available on Photoshop desktop and web.
New Collaboration Workspace In Projects
Photoshop desktop beta now includes Projects, a feature designed to streamline organisation and collaboration. It lets users manage and share grouped assets within a unified space.
Adobe said the feature tackles longstanding problems like scattered files, disjointed feedback and versioning issues when working with others.
“For agencies or freelancers working across campaigns or mockups, Projects can keep everything in one place and help keep teams on track,” the company said.
Model Picker Offers Stylistic Flexibility
Photoshop is also introducing a Gen Ai Model Picker to give users control over which Firefly model they use with Generative Fill and Generative Expand tools. Users can toggle between Firefly Image 1 and Firefly Image 3 models, depending on the creative result they want.
“Each Firefly model has distinct characteristics,” Adobe said. “The picker gives creators more flexibility to tailor styles and outputs.”

All of the new features are available in beta on Photoshop desktop and web, with the mobile app updated on iOS to include early access to some tools. The updates are part of Adobe’s broader focus on integrating generative Ai into its creative suite.
The company emphasised that the latest features are shaped by input from professionals across industries.
“We’re continuing to listen closely to the creative community and build tools that reduce friction, so people can focus on ideas rather than workarounds,” Adobe said.
