Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Adobe has announced an expansion of its creative agent across Firefly and Creative Cloud, extending agentic AI capabilities to applications including Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, InDesign and Frame.io.
The company’s Firefly platform, which serves as an AI creative studio, is gaining new tools and skills designed to handle multi-step workflows on behalf of users. Adobe has also previewed a unified experience intended to connect ideation, creation and production stages within a single environment.
The creative agent is designed to let users describe a desired outcome in natural language, after which the AI assistant orchestrates the steps needed to execute the work across Adobe’s suite of applications.
Creative agent across Creative Cloud
Adobe is rolling out AI Assistants, powered by its creative agent, to its Creative Cloud apps as public betas. The rollout covers Premiere, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Frame.io, with After Effects available in private beta.
Each AI Assistant operates as a specialist within its respective application.
In Premiere, the assistant handles setup tasks such as sorting assets into bins, batch renaming clips, identifying interview questions, adding markers and assembling a working starting point. In Photoshop, users can describe an outcome – such as swapping a background, resizing assets for different platforms or organising layers – and the assistant executes across the composite.
Illustrator’s assistant supports production jobs such as generating 50 versioned files from a spreadsheet, reorganising layers across a document or running pre-flight checks to flag colour mode errors or missing fonts before print. InDesign users can drop in a brand PDF or open a template and have the assistant apply updates across layouts including copy, styling and print-readiness checks.
In Frame.io, the assistant helps organise shoot assets, surface feedback across revisions and generate B-roll within a project.
David Wadhwani, President of Adobe’s Creativity and Productivity business, commented: “Every creative now has an agent capable of helping them execute across every app and platform where they work so they can set the vision, apply their taste and make the calls that only they can.”
Firefly gains new agentic tools
Adobe’s AI Assistant in Firefly has been gaining traction since launching in public beta, and the company is now adding new creative skills and tools aimed at creators and solopreneurs building brands on social media.
New capabilities include brand kit creation, where users can describe their style, brand name and colour palette, and the assistant generates a logo, brand identity and colour palette that can be applied across content.
A short product video creation tool turns product photos into short-form videos with lighting, motion, audio and brand styling. A Quick Cut feature automatically assembles video clips into an edited first cut based on dialogue, narration or visual content.
Users can also create storyboards from an idea and then use those storyboard frames to generate video.
The AI Assistant in Firefly is also receiving customisation upgrades that allow it to better understand a creator’s intent, surface assets described in the user’s own words and learn preferences over time. Creators can now invite collaborators to review and provide feedback on work inside the assistant before publishing.
Unified studio experience in preview
Adobe has previewed an upgraded Firefly creative AI studio experience that connects generation and editing in one place. The upgraded experience is available in private beta through a waitlist.

Two new features anchor the unified experience. Elements lets users save characters, locations and objects they have created and reuse them across generations, helping maintain consistency as projects evolve. Projects keeps assets, generations and creative context organised across Firefly and Creative Cloud, making it easier to pick up previous work and build on it.
Survey points to growing AI adoption among creators
The expansion comes as Adobe released findings from its Creators’ Toolkit Report, which surveyed more than 16,000 creators globally.
According to the report, 75 per cent of creators describe creative AI as integrated or essential to how they work. At the same time, 85 per cent say the final creative decision should always remain theirs.
Expanding reach to third-party AI platforms
Adobe is also extending its creative tools to third-party AI platforms including OpenAI’s ChatGPT, Anthropic’s Claude and Microsoft 365 Copilot. The company has announced plans to bring its connector to Google Gemini and Slack, expanding the availability of its tools across the AI ecosystem.
The AI Assistant capabilities in Firefly are available in the Firefly web app. The upgraded studio experience, including Elements and Projects, is accessible through a private beta waitlist.
