Adobe has announced that Premiere, its flagship video editing software, will be made available on iPhone. The app is open for pre-order through the Apple App Store.

The company said the release is designed for mobile content creation, combining pro-grade tools, studio-level audio and access to a wide range of creative assets.

Premiere For Mobile Creators

Adobe said Premiere on iPhone brings the same editing platform used by professional filmmakers, designers, animators and YouTubers to smartphones.

“Premiere has powered everything from Sundance premieres to Oscar-winning films,” the company said. “We want to put that capability directly into the hands of mobile creators.”

At launch, the app will feature a multi-track timeline, stylised subtitles, unlimited layers for video, audio and text, along with support for 4K HDR.

Flexibility Across Devices

The app is designed to let users start projects on their phone, then continue on desktop. Content can also be exported directly to TikTok, YouTube Shorts or Instagram with a single tap.

Premiere can automatically resize video for different platforms, keeping the focus in frame.

Adobe added that the iPhone version includes access to millions of stickers, images, fonts and music. Users can also generate content with Firefly, Adobe’s generative Ai system built into the app.

Mobile Studio Features

Premiere for iPhone allows creators to record studio-quality voiceovers using Enhance Speech, even in noisy conditions. It also enables users to create sound effects using their own voice.

Adobe said the app experience will remain ad-free. It will be free to use, with payment only required for generative credits or cloud storage.

Community Feedback

Adobe stressed that development has been shaped by input from creators worldwide. The company has hosted summits and tested features through private beta access.

Mai Pham, Entrepreneur, Designer and YouTuber, said Premiere’s mobile release reflects her experience learning editing on desktop.

“I grew up and learned editing on Premiere, and to be able to have Adobe create a mobile version is such a game-changer, especially with the large timeline view. It’s just truly built differently. I’m excited to see how this app grows and evolves,” Pham said.

Valerie Zhang, Creator and Cofounder of VX Media, said the app changes expectations for mobile workflows.

“Editing on mobile used to mean sacrificing control or quality, but not anymore. Premiere on iPhone brings precision tools and studio-quality audio to the one device I always have with me, so I can capture and shape my ideas the moment they hit,” Zhang said.
