Surprisingly Useful AI Article Enhancements
Adobe has expanded its model-integration strategy again, bringing Google’s new Gemini 3 image model, Nano Banana Pro, into Firefly and Photoshop on launch day.
The provider framed the move as part of a broader approach to drop new partner models into creative apps as soon as they ship, giving subscribers immediate access without juggling separate tools or subscriptions.
Hannah Elsakr, Vice President, New GenAi Business Ventures, said the addition of Nano Banana Pro builds on ongoing collaboration with Google. “With Google’s Nano Banana Pro now in Adobe Firefly and Photoshop, we’re giving creators and creative professionals yet another best-in-class image model they can tap into alongside Adobe’s powerful editing tools to turn ideas into high-impact content with full creative control. It’s an exciting step in our partnership with Google to help everyone create with Ai.”
The model is now live inside Firefly’s Text to Image tools, Firefly Boards and Photoshop’s Generative Fill, and is available with unlimited generations in Firefly for Creative Cloud Pro and Firefly plan subscribers until December 1.
New Model Enters Firefly’s Lineup
Nano Banana Pro joins Firefly Image Model 5 and a roster of partner options that already includes Black Forest Labs, ElevenLabs, Google, Ideogram, Luma Ai, Moonvalley, OpenAI, Pika, Runway and Topaz Labs.
Adobe highlighted internal research covering more than 16,000 creators, which found that over 60 per cent use multiple generative models depending on the task. The company positioned its integration strategy as a way to reduce the need for customers to switch tools or chase model releases independently.
Firefly users can now upload as many as six reference images and use text prompts to merge or refine elements into a single composition. The model supports adjustments to camera angles, aspect ratios and lighting. It also generates embedded text more cleanly, supports localisation and uses Google Search’s knowledge base to improve factual accuracy.
Uses Inside Firefly And Firefly Boards
In Firefly, Nano Banana Pro sits alongside the existing Text to Image workflow. The provider said early use cases include concepting, moodboarding and fast visual exploration.
Firefly Boards, the collaborative workspace introduced earlier this year, now supports the new model for campaign mock-ups. Creative teams can upload text, icons and visuals, then prompt the model to place them into real-world scenes such as billboards or retail settings for client review.
Photoshop Gains A New Generative Fill Option
Photoshop’s Generative Fill now uses Nano Banana Pro as another selectable model. The new option follows earlier integrations of Google’s Nano Banana and Black Forest Labs’ FLUX.1 Kontext.
Designers can generate higher-resolution content, perform prompt-based edits and use layers, masks and selections to refine outputs. Early demonstrations showed the model adjusting lighting conditions, including turning daylight scenes into night environments.
Subscribers to Creative Cloud Pro and Firefly plans can generate unlimited images using Firefly’s native and partner models, including Nano Banana Pro, through to December 1.
